The Forest of Dean

27,000 acres of enchanting woodland combining stunning natural beauty with an aura of mystery.

Forming the core of our area is The Lower Wye Valley, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which straddles the English/Welsh border and provides delightful riverside walks, spectacular viewpoints and historic ruins. The River Wye meanders from Ross-on-Wye through Monmouth and into the Severn Estuary at Chepstow.

To the South East of the Wye Valley is the Forest of Dean, one of England’s few remaining ancient Forests covering some 27,000 acres of woodland, designated a National Forest Park this accessible ‘Queen of Forests’ combines stunning natural beauty with an aura of mystery.
